30 Sundays Raises Rs 61 Crore Series A Funding
30 Sundays, an AI‑native holiday planning and booking platform based in Gurugram, announced a Series A financing of Rs 61 crore (approximately $6.7 million). The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with existing investors Info Edge Ventures and Eximius Ventures participating by increasing their stakes. The new capital lifts the company’s total funding to roughly $7.5 million since inception.
Founded by Kshitij Chaudhary (Co‑founder & CEO, former BCG and IIT Delhi) and Anuj Punjani (Co‑founder & CTO, former Apple), the firm’s core team includes alumni from Flipkart, Jabong, OYO, Travel Triangle and Shuttl. 30 Sundays positions itself as an AI‑native, full‑stack journey planner that controls the travel experience from discovery through booking and on‑trip concierge, delivering the service via a video‑first, conversational interface.
The platform reports a Net Promoter Score of 67 and a Google rating of 4.6, indicating strong customer satisfaction. It has achieved an annualised gross booking value (GBV) run‑rate of approximately Rs 200 crore, generated from four initial destinations – Bali, Vietnam, Maldives and Thailand – within just two years of operation, while maintaining profitability.
AI integration spans lead qualification, itinerary creation, follow‑ups and reservations, allowing the sales team to be twice as productive as top competitors and three times as productive as traditional travel agents. This efficiency underpins the company’s claim of profitable growth with a human‑in‑the‑loop model.
The company’s primary target group is “do‑it‑for‑me” couples, a segment the founders say has the sharpest unmet need in recreational travel. Expansion plans include moving into family travel and adding new geographies; the firm has recently launched services for New Zealand and Mauritius and is preparing to open markets in Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and the Philippines.
Industry context: India’s outbound leisure travel market is estimated at $25 billion and is expanding at an annual rate of about 11.4 %, driven by a growing middle class, relaxed visa norms and the proliferation of low‑cost carriers.
Investor comments: Kitty Agarwal, Partner at Info Edge Ventures, praised the founders’ AI‑with‑human‑in‑the‑loop approach and the rapid organic and referral traction. Anant Vidur Puri, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, highlighted the market size and the platform’s ability to deliver honest, effortless travel for Indian couples and families.
The fresh capital will be deployed to strengthen product, technology and AI teams, boost brand building and marketing to generate durable organic demand, and fund geographic and segment expansion.
