Launch of The Collector’s Guide 2026

360 ONE WAM Limited, one of India’s leading wealth and asset management firms with assets exceeding INR 7.8 lakh crore (approximately $82 billion) and serving over 8,900 families and corporates, announced the launch of “The Collector’s Guide 2026”, its inaugural report decoding the South Asian fine‑art market for a new generation of collectors. The guide catalogues the highest‑selling works of fifteen defining South Asian artists, including M.F. Husain, Tyeb Mehta, F.N. Souza, S.H. Raza and V.S. Gaitonde, and pairs historical price discovery with performance metrics for the first time in a single publication.

Indian Art Market Highlights

The secondary art market in India posted a decade‑high turnover of INR 2,543 crore in 2025, more than tripling the INR 792 crore recorded in 2015, indicating a sustained deepening of market activity. Of the 5,059 lots offered, 4,057 found buyers, delivering an 80 % sell‑through rate; paintings accounted for 47.5 % of all lots sold. A record‑price sale of INR 167.2 crore was achieved, representing the most expensive Indian artwork ever sold at auction.

Regional and Global Context

India emerged as one of Asia’s strongest growth stories, with auction turnover of $194.7 million and buying activity up 25 % across categories, reflecting deepening participation in international auctions even as some established Asian hubs cooled. Globally, fine‑art auction turnover reached $11.11 billion in 2025, up 12 % year‑on‑year, with the United States remaining the largest market at $4.7 billion.

Company Commentary

Yatin Shah, Co‑Founder and CEO of 360 ONE, said the report aims to serve as a “working companion and a compass for connoisseurs and custodians alike”, adding that the pairing of historical price data with clear performance metrics is intended to bring structure and disciplined insight to modern collecting.
