Announcement Overview
360 ONE, one of India’s leading wealth and asset management firms with US$74 billion in assets under management, announced a strategic partnership with WPP Media to create the largest airport brand installations in India. The installations are located at Gates 1 and 8 of Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, a hub that handles approximately 2.5 million travelers each year and is frequented by business families, entrepreneurs, institutional leaders and emerging wealth creators.
Strategic Rationale
The firm highlighted that the airport environment aligns with its 18‑year legacy of serving ambitious clients, positioning the brand where “India’s most ambitious journeys begin.” The installations showcase the three core business lines of 360 ONE – Wealth Management, Asset Management, and Capital Markets – reinforcing its market presence in the country’s financial capital.
Installation Details
- Number of structures: Three installations (two unveiled at Gates 1 and 8, a third pending launch).
- Total weight: 25.5 tonnes.
- Total area covered: 166 sq m of freestanding installation.
- Gate 1 structure: 46 feet wide, weighing 7.5 tonnes.
- Gate 8 structure: 33 feet wide, weighing 4.8 tonnes.
- Engineering challenge: The base plates were redesigned to accommodate the airport floor’s thermal expansion and contraction, ensuring the structure remains stationary while the floor moves.
- Fabrication: Upper sections were fabricated off‑site, shipped in modular pieces, and assembled on‑site; bases were constructed directly at the gate locations.
- Precision requirement: A deviation of 1 mm at the base could cause a 6 mm misalignment at the top, demanding tight tolerances throughout.
- Wind‑load capacity: The largest installation can withstand wind forces up to 34 kN, equivalent to the continuous sideways force of three cars.
- Quality control: An eight‑step quality‑control process was applied across design, fabrication, transportation and on‑site assembly.
- Project timeline: The entire process, from planning to completion, spanned approximately eight months without disrupting any airport departures.
Executive Comments
- Bhavika Kotak, Head of Marketing, 360 ONE, stated that the airport is a prime location where “India’s most ambitious journeys begin” and that the installations place the brand where ambitions naturally converge.
- Ajay Mehta, Head, Media Solutions, WPP Media India, emphasized the blend of strategic placement, premium formats and contextual relevance, describing the airport as a “living brand platform rather than a traditional media asset.”
