Aarti Industries Commissions Phase I of Zone IV Project
Aarti Industries Limited (AIL) announced on 7 September 2026 that Phase I of its Zone IV project at Jhagadia, Gujarat, has been successfully commissioned. The first phase brings three key manufacturing blocks into operation: a Calcium Chloride facility, a production line for 2‑Phenyl Ethyl Diethyl Aniline (PEDA), and a portion of a Multipurpose Plant (MPP). The Calcium Chloride unit expands AIL’s Energy & Additives portfolio with applications in oilfield and other energy‑related markets. The PEDA line extends the company’s existing ethylation platform downstream, building on its 2,6‑Diethyl Aniline capabilities and targeting primarily agrochemical applications. The partially commissioned Multipurpose Plant provides a flexible platform that can scale pilot‑validated processes to commercial volumes across multiple advanced chemistries, allowing rapid response to evolving customer needs.
With Phase I now online, AIL will focus on commercial qualification, obtaining customer approvals and a disciplined ramp‑up of the new assets. The company expects the facilities to enable the commercialisation of several products that will be manufactured in India for the first time, thereby strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities and creating new opportunities for customers. CEO Suyog Kotecha stated that the company remains on track to commercialise all manufacturing blocks within Zone IV during the current fiscal year, further deepening downstream integration, diversifying end‑use applications, and adding high‑value niche products to the portfolio.
Zone IV has been designed as a flexible platform capable of producing a diversified portfolio that spans agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, coatings, polymers and energy & additives. The project reinforces AIL’s integrated R&D, scale‑up and manufacturing ecosystem and forms a strategic building block of its long‑term growth plan in the speciality chemicals sector.
