Aboli Hospital VCF-SC Funding and Expansion
The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment highlighted the success of Aboli Hospital Private Limited, established by Dr. Anil Sadashivrao Kamble in Parbhani, Maharashtra, as an example of how the Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes (VCF-SC) enables healthcare entrepreneurship. In 2023, the VCF-SC provided ₹5 crore in financial assistance through venture capital comprising equity and optionally convertible debentures.
This funding enabled the establishment of a 70-bed multi-speciality hospital equipped with a pharmacy, advanced Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and critical care facilities capable of treating complex medical emergencies, particularly paralysis and other critical illnesses. The assistance was used to procure modern medical equipment, reduce the burden of high-cost bank loans, and strengthen linkages with health insurance schemes including Ayushman Bharat.
The hospital has generated 65 direct employment opportunities, comprising 27 Scheduled Caste employees and 38 non-Scheduled Caste employees. Financially, the enterprise has shown remarkable growth with its net worth increasing from ₹61.75 lakh to ₹6.93 crore while creating assets worth ₹2.78 crore. The hospital serves the people of Parbhani and neighbouring districts, providing quality and affordable healthcare services under one roof for underserved communities.
Dr. Kamble, the Managing Director, stated that the VCF-SC support strengthened their mission of delivering quality and affordable healthcare services to underserved communities. The project represents a model of inclusive healthcare entrepreneurship that strengthens healthcare delivery in semi-urban and rural regions while creating sustainable livelihoods.
