Press Release Overview
Actorius Innovations and Research presented its integrated liquid‑biopsy portfolio at the CAMO 2026 – Cancer in Motion International Scientific Symposium, held on Tuesday, 27 October 2026 at ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre in Navi Mumbai. The event marked the launch of the company’s next‑generation sequencing (NGS) genomic tests and highlighted its CDSCO‑approved OncoDiscover circulating tumor cell (CTC) biomarker platform.
NGS Genomic Tests
The newly launched NGS tests are designed to guide cancer treatment decisions and enable longitudinal monitoring of minimal residual disease. They provide comprehensive analysis of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), genomic DNA (gDNA) and RNA extracted from a simple blood sample, allowing oncologists to make precise therapeutic choices.
OncoDiscover CTC Platform
OncoDiscover is India’s first and only CDSCO‑cleared clinical assay for detecting CTCs from blood. The platform employs proprietary immunomagnetic enrichment and fluorescence microscopy to detect and enumerate rare circulating tumor cells. It is applicable across more than fifteen solid‑tumor types, offering clinicians a cellular view of disease alongside the molecular insights from NGS.
Scientific Leadership and Commentary
The integrated approach was developed under the scientific leadership of Dr. Jayant Khandare, who co‑founded Actorius in 2013 with Aravindan Vasudevan. Dr. Khandare explained that even when imaging appears clear, circulating tumor cells and residual genomic signals can persist and drive future metastasis; the combined NGS and CTC data therefore provide quantitative cellular and molecular information from blood draws, helping track disease, guide targeted treatment, reduce dependence on imports, and broaden advanced monitoring availability.
Global liquid‑biopsy pioneers Prof. Klaus Pantel and Prof. Catherine Alix‑Panabières, who coined the term “Liquid Biopsy” in 2010, praised the integrated platform. Prof. Pantel noted that Actorius has successfully translated robust CTC science into a regulated platform that, together with genomic testing, meaningfully expands accessible liquid biopsy for Indian patients. Prof. Alix‑Panabières commended the scientific depth of combining OncoDiscover with NGS monitoring, calling it a significant step that brings high‑quality circulating biomarker insights into routine clinical decision‑making.
Future Developments
Actorius continues to advance circulating biomarker technologies, including the investigational OncoDiscover Metastat system, which aims to further enhance metastatic monitoring capabilities.
