Overview
Adhiraj Chauhan, a student at Amity International School, has emerged as a young AI entrepreneur focused on mental healthcare, behavioural technology, and environmental innovation. His flagship venture, AIR, is an AI‑assisted mental health application developed under his company Delta AI Revolution.
Mental Health Context and AIR Offering
India currently has approximately 0.75 psychiatrists per 100,000 population, far below the World Health Organization’s recommendation of three per 100,000. WHO also estimates that one in seven adolescents globally experiences a mental health condition. In this context, AIR is designed to support users experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma‑related challenges. The platform incorporates clinical inputs from Dr. Sandeep Vohra, former Head of Psychiatry at Max and Apollo Hospitals, and draws on cognitive‑behavioural therapy and counselling frameworks to enable structured conversations, document interactions, and identify behavioural patterns over time. AIR is available in seven regional languages and, according to Delta AI Revolution, has reached more than 40,000 users.
Funding and Recognitions
The venture received seed‑stage funding through the Government of India’s Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs (TIDE) programme, administered by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Chauhan’s achievements include Startup India (DPIIT) recognition for his AI venture, India’s Young‑Preneur Award, the Most Innovative Solution award at the Harvard Sustainability Impact Summit, and a Best Research Paper distinction at the Oxford Global Academic Summit. He was also named Visionary Young Leader in AI & Innovation at the Outlook Business Awards and Young AI Entrepreneur of the Year at the BW Businessworld Awards.
Additional AI Initiatives
Beyond mental health, Chauhan is collaborating with a professor from the Wharton School to develop AI‑powered Digital Twins that model individual preferences, motivations, personality traits, and decision‑making patterns using behavioural frameworks, surveys, and validation mechanisms. In the environmental domain, he has created an AI‑enabled unmanned marine vehicle that monitors water quality in real‑time. The Central Pollution Control Board reports 296 polluted stretches across 271 Indian rivers, underscoring the need for timely monitoring. Chauhan has filed a patent for the core technology of the marine vehicle and licensed it to an external company for commercial deployment.
Mentorship and Ecosystem Contributions
Chauhan is actively involved in mentorship networks and accelerator collaborations to broaden entrepreneurial guidance and resources for other young innovators, aiming to translate ideas into sustainable ventures.
Public Appearances
He was selected by NITI Aayog as one of only two student speakers at the AI Impact Summit held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, where he presented his startup before representatives from Google, Microsoft, Meta, and OpenAI. The presentation received commendation from Deepak Bagla, Mission Director of the Atal Innovation Mission under NITI Aayog, for its foresight and nation‑building potential.
