The analysis is based on accommodation search data collected on Agoda from 1 April to 30 June 2026 and compares it with the same period in 2025.

Search Growth Highlights

India emerged as the fastest‑growing Asian destination, registering a 14 percent year‑on‑year increase in European accommodation searches for the July‑August 2026 travel window, the highest growth rate among all Asian markets. South Korea followed with a 13 percent rise and Vietnam with a 12 percent rise, making these three markets the top‑rising destinations in Europe’s summer travel interest.

Destination Rankings

For the second consecutive year, Thailand retained its position as the most‑searched Asian destination among European travelers, with Indonesia moving to second place and Japan to third. Across the top 20 Asian destinations, India’s 14 percent growth was the most notable.

City‑Level Interest in India

Within India, the most‑searched cities among European travelers were New Delhi, Mumbai and Goa. New Delhi and Mumbai are highlighted as primary international gateways offering cultural, culinary and urban experiences, while Goa is noted for its beaches, Portuguese heritage and vibrant hospitality scene.

European Origin Markets

The United Kingdom was the largest European market driving travel interest to India, followed by Germany, the Netherlands, France and Italy, based on absolute search volumes. Emerging European markets showed substantial year‑on‑year growth: Slovakia posted a 148 percent increase, Croatia 128 percent, and Ireland 88 percent. Additional growth was observed in Turkey (+39 percent), Hungary (+22 percent) and the Czech Republic (+16 percent). The top five origin markets—France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Spain—remained consistent from 2025 to 2026.
