AirAsia Orders Record 150 Airbus A220-300 Jets

AirAsia placed a record order for 150 Airbus A220‑300 aircraft, the largest single firm order for the A220 program.
The deal pushes total A220 firm orders past 1,000 units and makes AirAsia the launch customer for a new 160‑seat cabin configuration.
AirAsia plans to deploy the A220 on ASEAN and Central Asian routes, using the larger 160‑seat version to serve longer sectors.
Airbus highlighted the aircraft’s low operating costs, 3,600‑nm range and ability to use up to 50% SAF, targeting 100% SAF by 2030.
