Launch Overview
Akta Wealth launched the Akta Flexicap Fund on 10 September 2026 as a Portfolio Management Service (PMS) offering. The fund targets a corpus of ₹100 crore and has already mobilised more than ₹20 crore from investors.
Investment Strategy
The PMS constructs a concentrated equity portfolio of 25‑35 stocks selected across large‑cap, mid‑cap and small‑cap segments. Stock selection is based on strong fundamentals, sustainable competitive advantage, growth potential, scalability and competent management. To enhance diversification, the strategy also allocates to overseas equity indices and commodities such as gold and silver through exchange‑traded funds (ETFs). Allocation decisions combine in‑depth fundamental research, financial modelling, top‑down macro analysis and bottom‑up stock selection, with the portfolio reviewed periodically.
Target Investors & Distribution
The offering is aimed at high‑net‑worth individuals (HNIs), ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals (UHNIs), entrepreneurs, family offices and non‑resident Indians (NRIs) who meet PMS eligibility norms. Distribution will occur through Akta’s existing advisory network, targeting its current client base.
Akta Wealth Background
Founded in 1984 as an insurance distribution business, Akta Wealth has evolved into a diversified financial services platform encompassing mutual funds, equity and PMS, alternate assets, private equity, venture capital, family‑office solutions, portfolio analytics, fintech, financial planning, loans and insurance. The firm now manages over ₹1,600 crore in assets under management/administration, serves more than 4,650 clients, operates seven offices across Gujarat and Maharashtra, and employs a team of 25+ professionals.
Market Context
The launch comes amid rising demand for PMS in India, driven by rapid growth in HNI/UHNI wealth, greater financialisation of household savings and a growing investor preference for differentiated, high‑conviction portfolios over standardised pooled investment solutions.
Management Commentary
Founder & Chairman Gautam Desai stated that the Flexicap Fund reflects Akta’s philosophy of putting people before products, addressing the need for customised, high‑conviction portfolios. He emphasized that long‑term wealth creation relies on compounding capital sustainably by backing businesses with durable competitive advantages, strong governance and disciplined capital allocation, rather than chasing short‑term returns. Desai described the launch as a natural progression from wealth management to capital management, aiming to integrate advice, asset allocation and investment management around clients’ long‑term objectives.
Outlook
Akta Wealth’s ambition is to build an integrated capital‑management platform where advisory, allocation and investment execution work together, guided by trust, transparency and integrity.
