Alfa Transformers Limited received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL) dated 8th June 2026. The award is for the "Supply of different rating 11KV, Star-1 (Level-1) Distribution Transformers under CPP Tender for the year 2026-2027".

Contract Value and Financial Terms

Technical Specifications

The order is specifically for 3-Phase 100 KVA Distribution Transformers with amorphous core material and the following technical specifications:

  • Maximum No Load Loss: 78
  • Maximum Full Load loss at 75 Deg. C: 1572
  • Total Loss at 50% Loading: 471
  • Total Loss at 100% Loading: 1650

Quantity Allocation and Distribution

The total quantity awarded is 478 units, allocated among four DISCOMs as follows:

  • MGVCL: 131 units
  • DGVCL: 45 units
  • UGVCL: 24 units
  • PGVCL: 278 units

UGVCL has been designated as the nodal DISCOM. The supplier code allotted for TIN plate is 01.

Delivery Timeline

The delivery of the total allocated quantity must be completed within seven months in equal monthly lots. This delivery schedule commences after a period of 45 days from the date of receipt of the order Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the respective DISCOMs. Individual LOAs will be issued by each DISCOM, and they may require earlier delivery at their discretion.

Performance Guarantee Requirements

The supplier must pay a Performance Guarantee (Security Deposit) equivalent to 3% of the total contract value (total end cost with GST). This guarantee must be submitted to the respective DISCOMs according to their quantity allocation. The guarantee must be submitted within 15 days from the date of the LOA issued by respective DISCOMs, failing which the LOA may be cancelled.

The supplier has the option to submit a single Bank Guarantee covering both the execution period and guarantee/warranty period, valid until completion of the guarantee/warranty period plus one additional month.

Contract Execution Requirements

An Agreement must be executed within 20 days from the date of the LOA issued by respective DISCOMs. The supplier has accepted all general terms and conditions of the tender without any deviation.

Technical Approvals Required

During the 45-day commencement period, the supplier must obtain approval for the following type tests/BIS License/BEE certificate without affecting the delivery schedule:

  • Short Circuit Withstand Test
  • Salt Spray Test for 192 Hrs.
  • Test of Painted surface as per ASTM standards
  • Dry film thickness & Hardness test as per ASTM standards as per IS 1180(Part-1)

Detailed Acceptance of Tender will be issued after completion of these formalities by respective DISCOMs.

Additional Conditions

The supplier has given consent for repairing failed distribution transformers as per Annexure-X of the tender. The supplier must complete supply of any pending orders from DISCOMs within two months from the date of this Master LOA. DISCOMs reserve the right to short close the order and redistribute quantity to other bidders in case of failure to supply previous pending orders within the prescribed time.
