Algoma Steel stock rose 4.9% after announcing a joint venture with Roshel to create a Canadian ballistic steel centre.
The JV, Roshel Algoma Defence Solutions Inc., will supply ballistic steel for Canadian defence programmes like Light Utility Vehicles and Arctic mobility.
The partnership aligns with Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy, supports over 500 jobs, and reinforces supply chains for sectors such as automotive (Ford F‑Series).
