Algoma Steel shares jumped 4.9% after announcing a joint venture with Roshel to create a Canadian ballistic steel centre.
The JV will supply sovereign ballistic steel for Light Utility Vehicles, Arctic mobility, ships, submarines and export to allied nations.
The partnership targets over 500 jobs, supports domestic supply chains like Ford’s F‑Series production, and aligns with Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy and Buy‑Canadian policies.
