Launch Overview
The Amity Global Research Hub (AGRH), a multidisciplinary international platform created by Amity University, was officially inaugurated at the Consulate General of India in New York on August 21, 2026. The event, released on August 27, 2026, was held under the theme “Shaping the Future through Emerging Technologies.”
Platform Objectives
AGRH is designed to foster world‑class research collaboration, innovation, entrepreneurship, technology commercialization, and policy engagement across global ecosystems. It seeks to address pressing global challenges while generating opportunities for scientific discovery, economic development, and societal transformation. The hub will act as a bridge linking India’s research strengths, talent, and innovation capabilities with the extensive academic, scientific, technological, and entrepreneurial ecosystem of the United States.
Launch Activities
The inauguration included the unveiling of the AGRH website and a research brochure, followed by panel discussions on multi‑sector partnerships, emerging technologies, and avenues to strengthen India‑US collaboration. Panel participants represented leading American institutions such as Rutgers University, Georgia Institute of Technology, the City University of New York (CUNY), Long Island University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and the National Cancer Institute.
Key Statements
Chancellor Dr. Aseem Chauhan, also Chairman of AGRH, emphasized the need for globally connected research ecosystems to tackle increasingly complex technological and societal challenges. Director Dr. Sandeep Mittan highlighted AGRH’s role as a platform for international research partnerships, noting that it will enable young researchers, students, and innovators to join global networks. Prof. (Dr.) W. Selvamurthy, President of the Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation, underscored the importance of collaboration in shaping the next generation of research and innovation.
Technological Focus Areas
AGRH will concentrate on emerging technologies that require interdisciplinary and international cooperation, including artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, advanced materials, biotechnology, healthcare technologies, cybersecurity, space technologies, and clean and sustainable technologies.
Vision and Long‑Term Ambition
The hub aims to facilitate interactions among researchers and institutions, support knowledge exchange, and promote collaborative engagement that can move ideas from discovery to innovation, technology development, and societal impact. Its broader vision includes creating meaningful opportunities for both established researchers and emerging scientists, innovators, and entrepreneurs. The long‑term ambition is to generate tangible outcomes ranging from collaborative research and knowledge exchange to technology development, entrepreneurship, and opportunities for the next generation of researchers.
Strategic Context
The launch aligns with the expanding strategic relationship between India and the United States in science, technology, education, and innovation, emphasizing multi‑sector partnerships that extend beyond academia to include industry, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
