Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Researchers Featured in Elsevier’s 2026 “World’s Top 2% Scientists” List
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham disclosed that a total of forty‑eight of its researchers have been included in the 2026 update of the global “World’s Top 2% Scientists” database maintained by Elsevier in the Elsevier Data Repository. The list, which is compiled using citation data from Scopus, evaluates researchers’ impact across all scientific disciplines and is widely referenced as a benchmark of high‑impact scholarship.
Of the forty‑eight individuals, seventeen are recognised in the career‑long category, which assesses citation impact up to the end of 2025. Forty‑four are listed in the single‑year category that measures citations received during the calendar year 2025. Thirteen researchers appear in both categories, resulting in a distinct count of forty‑eight researchers.
The featured scholars work across a broad spectrum of fields, including medicine, engineering, materials science, artificial intelligence, networking and telecommunications, energy, and education. The database selects researchers who rank among the top 100,000 by a composite citation score or who fall within the top two percent of their respective sub‑fields. The composite score incorporates factors such as co‑authorship and author position to provide a standardized measure of citation impact.
Elsevier, a global publisher of scientific and academic research, supplies the Scopus database that indexes publications and tracks citations used for the assessment. The press release, dated October 27, 2026, was issued from New Delhi and made publicly available on the university’s website.
