TDS Procedures for Dividend
Resident Shareholders - Individuals:
- TDS applicable if aggregate dividend exceeds ₹10,000 during tax year 2026-27
- Tax deduction rate: 10% unless exempt
- Form 121 required for exemption from TDS, submitted via shareholder portal or through depository participants (NSDL/CDSL)
- Deadline for submission: August 4, 2026
- PAN-Aadhaar linkage mandatory - non-compliance results in 20% TDS rate
Resident Non-Individuals:
- Exempt categories include Insurance Companies, Mutual Funds, Alternative Investment Funds (Category I/II), NPS Trust
