BlueChip Initiative Launch by Anduril and Qualcomm

Anduril Industries and Qualcomm Incorporated have unveiled a new hardware venture called BlueChip, aimed at designing and manufacturing personal computers wholly within the United States. The collaboration targets secure, domestically produced laptops for defense, public‑safety and other government agencies that wish to reduce reliance on overseas supply chains.

Under the partnership, Qualcomm will provide its Snapdragon X Series architecture to handle core processing, graphics and on‑device artificial‑intelligence workloads, while Anduril has already engineered functional prototypes of the flagship laptop. Commercial order books for the devices are scheduled to open in 2027.

BlueChip will source more than 90% of its initial component procurement costs from U.S. and allied‑nation suppliers, covering items such as printed circuit boards, enclosures, batteries and display glass. Anduril is adapting its mechanical‑engineering processes to domestic manufacturing realities, configuring chassis machining, battery assembly and display bonding around available U.S. industrial capacity.

Final assembly will be carried out at Anduril’s Arsenal‑1 manufacturing facility in Ohio, which will handle printed circuit board fabrication as well as system integration. The companies intend to expand these domestic sourcing networks over time, using the inaugural laptop as a platform to launch a broader portfolio of American‑built hardware products.

The partnership reflects an accelerating effort by national‑security contractors to insulate sensitive public‑sector infrastructure from geopolitical disruption, and positions BlueChip to capture rising federal and institutional demand for resilient hardware.
