Anthropic Secures $15B Credit Facility Ahead of IPO
Anthropic is set to finalize an expansion of its revolving credit facility to a total commitment of $15 billion, a step described as clearing a key hurdle ahead of its highly anticipated initial public offering. The loan process is being led by Morgan Stanley, while Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup have prominent roles on the facility and are also leading the IPO effort. Barclays and Wells Fargo are expected to play key roles on the loan, and Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Canada and UBS are also listed among the participants in the financing lineup.
The $15 billion credit line is substantially larger than Anthropic’s previously indicated roughly $10 billion IPO target and exceeds the $2.5 billion five‑year revolving facility the company secured last year. According to Bloomberg, Anthropic’s annualized revenue has already surpassed $65 billion, and the company is seeking to raise an amount in its IPO that could be comparable to, or exceed, the capital raised by SpaceX.
The report notes that specific details of the credit facility remain subject to change.
