Shri Anupam Misra assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) on July 1, 2026, as announced by the Ministry of Mines through PIB Delhi. The appointment brings a leader with over 33 years of experience in marketing, international trade, and business development, particularly in minerals, metals, chemicals, and engineering goods.
Misra holds a B.Tech (Hons) in Civil Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, a PGDM from IIM Lucknow, and has completed executive programmes at IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta. Prior to joining HCL, he served as Director (Marketing) at Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) from July 2020 to June 2026 and also held the additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director of FACT.
Immediately after assuming office, Misra conducted meetings with HCL's Functional Directors to review the company's operational and strategic priorities. He also interacted with Departmental Heads at the Corporate Office and Unit Heads connected virtually to discuss key operational issues, ongoing projects, and the company's growth roadmap. The appointment is positioned to strengthen HCL's role in supporting India's critical mineral and copper security initiatives.
