Overview

On Wednesday, 29 July 2026, Anupam Mittal – founder of Shaadi.com and judge on Shark Tank India – visited the Scaler School of Business (SSB) campus in Bengaluru. During the session he interacted with multiple student‑led startups, probing their business models, go‑to‑market strategies, and long‑term visions.

Investment Details

Mittal expressed interest in Hummusapiens, a healthy snacking startup founded by Dr Charles Chacko Porathoor. He offered to back the venture with an investment of INR 50 lakh. The offer was captured in a reel that later surfaced online, showing Mittal asking the founder, “50 Lakh Mein Kitna Equity Dega?”.

Reviewed Ventures

In addition to Hummusapiens, Mittal evaluated:

  • Gredo, a startup developing healthy vending machines.
  • Grade Sense, an AI‑powered platform for paper evaluation.
  • Dream Kit, a science‑learning venture aimed at students.

He challenged each founder on their business assumptions and encouraged them to think bigger.

Scaler School Background

Vidit Jain, SVP and Head of Scaler School, explained that SSB was founded in 2024 by Anshuman Singh and Abhimanyu Saxena, both alumni of IIIT Hyderabad. The school’s flagship offering, the Post Graduate Program in Management & Technology (PGP‑MT), is an 18‑month, full‑time, on‑campus program based in Bengaluru. The curriculum combines AI‑enabled learning, entrepreneurship labs, and company‑led projects across product, marketing, finance, and strategy, and is backed by leaders from India’s startup ecosystem and experienced operators.

Remarks from Leadership

Jain emphasized that SSB’s mission is to “prepare builders for tomorrow,” expecting students from day one to identify problems, build products, acquire customers, and learn from real‑world business challenges rather than simulations. He highlighted that regular interaction with founders, operators, and investors is integral to the learning experience.
