Strategic Actions / M&A

Apollo Micro Systems Limited has subscribed to 3,400 equity shares of ₹10 each, aggregating to ₹34,000, constituting 34% of the paid-up equity share capital of Shauryastra Defence Systems Private Limited. The company was incorporated in India on 21st August, 2026 under the Companies Act, 2013.

Shauryastra Defence Systems Private Limited has been incorporated as a dedicated technology and development entity that will pursue unsolved and futuristic operational problem statements of the Indian Armed Forces. The entity will focus on research, design and development of complete weapon systems, long range systems, unmanned platforms and allied defence technologies.

Leadership and Governance

The new entity will operate under the leadership of Dr. V. K. Saraswat, former Secretary of Department of Defence R&D and Director General of DRDO. Dr. Saraswat served as Project Director of Prithvi, chief designer of Prithvi and Dhanush missiles, and contributed to Agni 5, Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, and INS Arihant nuclear submarine. He has been honored with Padma Shri (1998) and Padma Bhushan (2013).

Strategic Rationale

This incorporation represents a natural extension of Apollo Micro Systems' four-decade journey in defence electronics towards complete weapon system solutions. The move aligns with the Government of India's Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and is expected to strengthen the company's long-term positioning as a total solutions provider in the defence sector.

The dedicated entity structure allows Shauryastra to function as the technology and development arm while leveraging Apollo Group's established manufacturing and integration capabilities. The timing coincides with government initiatives like Make II, iDEX, DcPP and Development Partner frameworks that encourage private sector participation in complete weapon programmes.
