Aquapulse, an Indian aquaculture startup founded in 2023 and operated by Phoenix Marine Exports and Solution Pvt. Ltd., was announced as one of three global finalists in the aquaculture category of the Responsible Seafood Innovation Awards at the Responsible Seafood Summit in Bangkok. The award, organised by the Global Seafood Alliance, recognises Aquapulse’s farm‑to‑market model that tracks shrimp from pond to export using four in‑house technology platforms: a computer‑vision system that assesses pond conditions, a water‑quality and crop‑history recorder, a pricing and market‑decision engine, and an export‑documentation generator.
The model currently serves more than 7,000 shrimp farmers across 20,000 hectares in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, delivering a 3‑5 % improvement in price realisation for participating farmers and ensuring continuous market access across crop cycles. In the fiscal year ending 2025 the company procured approximately 2,000 metric tonnes of shrimp from its farmer network and has already matched that volume in 2026. Aquapulse projects procurement to increase about 2.5‑fold during 2026, raising the volume to roughly 5,000 metric tonnes and expects the value of shrimp procured to rise between 2.5 and three times.
Over the next 12‑18 months the firm plans to expand its farmer base to 10,000, enter the state of Gujarat, and apply the same traceability model to new aquaculture clusters. The company also targets a three‑fold increase in revenue over the prior year. Co‑founder and Chief Executive Officer Abhishek Dwivedy said the recognition validates a farmer‑centric model that can scale, while Co‑founder and Chief Growth Officer Abhilash Dwivedy emphasised that traceability should generate value that returns to farmers rather than becoming a compliance cost.
The Responsible Seafood Summit marked its 25th edition and returned to Thailand for the first time since 2012, with six finalists selected across the global seafood supply chain, three in aquaculture and three in wild fisheries.
