Announcement
Aster DM Quality Care Limited, formed through the merger of Aster DM Healthcare Limited and Quality Care India Limited, announced a planned investment of Rs 1,315 crore to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the State of Karnataka. The announcement followed a meeting between Executive Chairman Dr Azad Moopen and Karnataka Chief Minister Shri D.K. Shivakumar.
Current Operations
The company operates a network of 39 hospitals across 28 cities, comprising more than 10,600 beds nationwide. In Karnataka it runs four hospitals—Aster CMI Hospital, Aster RV Hospital, Aster Whitefield Hospital, and Aster Women & Children Hospital—providing a total of 1,329 operational beds.
Expansion Projects
As part of the Rs 1,315 crore investment, Aster DM Quality Care is developing a 550‑bed Aster Hospital in Yeshwantpur, a 460‑bed Aster Hospital in Sarjapur, and a 350‑bed expansion of Aster CMI Hospital. These projects are intended to increase access to tertiary and quaternary care services in Bengaluru.
Strategic Focus
During the meeting Dr Azad Moopen highlighted commitments to healthcare infrastructure, medical education, skill development, employment generation, healthcare technology, medical tourism, research, innovation and charitable initiatives. Managing Director & Group CEO Mr Varun Khanna stated that the scale and capabilities of the group will accelerate the next phase of healthcare transformation in Karnataka. Director Ms Alisha Moopen added that the investments aim to build an integrated ecosystem combining advanced clinical care, digital innovation, education and research.
