Overview
AU Small Finance Bank Limited (AU SFB), a scheduled commercial bank and India’s largest small‑finance bank, announced the launch of a fully digital savings‑account opening experience. Customers can complete the entire process, including KYC, through a live two‑minute video interaction with a bank representative, using the AU 0101 mobile app or the bank’s website. The account is activated and ready for transactions in under ten minutes, requiring only a valid Aadhaar and PAN, with no physical documents, branch visits, or paperwork.
Video Banking Service
The bank’s Video Banking feature provides real‑time, face‑to‑face assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is intended for new account openings, existing‑customer service requests, senior citizens, differently‑abled individuals, residents of smaller towns, and non‑resident Indians managing NRI accounts. The service replaces chatbots with a live banking professional, ensuring personalized support without an in‑person branch visit.
Savings Account Features
AU SFB offers tiered, daily‑balance‑based interest rates that are displayed on the bank’s website in real time and applied from day one of account opening. Interest is calculated on the daily balance and paid monthly, with higher balances unlocking progressively better rates. A free, no‑login savings‑account calculator is available on the website and within the AU 0101 app, allowing customers to input an expected balance and tenure to instantly view projected earnings based on current rate slabs. The bank also provides zero‑balance account options and multiple account variants tailored to different life stages. All deposits are insured by the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) up to INR 5 lakh per depositor.
