Audible Announces Global Full‑Cast Audio Adaptation of “Dracula”

Audible, an Amazon‑owned leader in spoken‑word entertainment, issued a press release announcing an original full‑cast audio adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic psychological thriller Dracula. The production will be released worldwide in seven languages, with the English, French, Italian, Castilian Spanish and LATAM Spanish versions debuting on October 1 2026. The German version is scheduled for February 9 2027, while a Brazilian Portuguese edition is slated for 2027 (exact date and cast to be announced).

The English‑language cast features Jonathan Bailey as Dracula, Ella Purnell as Mina, Aimee Lou Wood as Lucy, Louis Partridge as Jonathan, David Jonsson as Dr Seward, Lesley Manville as Mrs Westenra, Johnny Flynn as Renfield, Francis Lovehall as Arthur and Maggie Gyllenhaal as Professor Van Helsing. International adaptations are led by Omar Sy (French Dracula) opposite Deva Cassel (French Mina), Riccardo Scamarcio (Italian Dracula) with Benedetta Porcaroli (Italian Mina), Matthias Schweighöfer (German Dracula) with Jeanne Goursaud (German Mina), Asier Etxeandía (Castilian Spanish Dracula) with Claudia Salas (Castilian Spanish Mina), and José María de Tavira (LATAM Spanish Dracula) with Esmeralda Pimentel (LATAM Spanish Mina). Each version will feature a full ensemble cast.

Award‑winning director Mary Lambert, known for the cult horror film Pet Sematary, makes her audiobook directing debut on this project. The adaptation is written by Robyn Ahern, a recipient of the Bisha K. Ali Screenwriters Fellowship, marking her first lead credit. The production is underscored by an original score composed by Ilan Eshkeri, complemented by an immersive soundscape designed to heighten the psychological thriller experience.

Aurelie de Troyer, Head of Audible Content, International, emphasized that the adaptation leverages Audible’s strength in crafting immersive audio experiences, noting the global talent assembled across the seven language versions. She highlighted the timing of the launch to coincide with Halloween, aiming to deliver a “truly global Dracula” experience.
