Aurobindo Pharma Limited announced through a regulatory filing that its wholly owned stepdown subsidiary, Lannett Company LLC (a subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma USA, Inc.), has launched the generic equivalent of Advair Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder) in the US market.
The product launch includes two strengths: 100/50 mcg and 250/50 mcg. This generic product is equivalent to GSK plc's Advair Diskus®.
This launch represents the first product from Aurobindo's inhalation pipeline to be commercialized in the United States, reflecting the company's strategic focus on expanding its portfolio of complex and differentiated inhalation products.
The combination therapy product is indicated for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
