Avanza stock dropped about 2.3% on April 21, 2026, after announcing a plan to expand operations into Denmark.
The share price fell as much as 5% intraday, while rival Nordnet, already present in Denmark, slipped roughly 1.2%.
SEB analyst Andreas Håkansson warned the expansion will raise costs and is unlikely to be profitable for about five years.
Avanza’s cost outlook exceeds Nordnet’s German expansion guidance, indicating higher run‑rate expenses and a longer break‑even horizon.
