Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd (BCML) conducted its 'Bioyug on Wheels' mobile awareness campaign in Rajkot, Gujarat, as part of its nationwide outreach initiative. The campaign aims to promote circular economy principles and mainstream adoption of bio-based innovations including PLA (polylactic acid) bioplastics.

Scientific Validation

A study by a premier government institution confirmed that PLA microplastics break down safely in Indian soil, unlike conventional plastics. The study observed a significant decline in PLA microplastics within 180 days, reducing from 287 to just 18 particles/kg under Indian soil conditions, representing a 94% reduction.
