Bangalore Watch Company™ Announces Debut at New York Watch Week 2026

Bangalore Watch Company™ — founded in 2018 by husband‑and‑wife team Nirupesh Joshi and Mercy Amalraj after they left overseas tech careers — will make its debut at New York Watch Week 2026, marking the first time an Indian watch brand has participated in the event. The brand describes the appearance as a pivotal step in taking modern Indian watchmaking to a global audience.

The company’s international journey includes a debut at Dubai Watch Week in 2025, participation in Geneva Watch Days in 2026, and consecutive listings on the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) for two years. Recent funding from family‑office principals, high‑net‑worth individuals and a number of its own customers in India and overseas has underpinned these expansion plans. Mercy Amalraj noted that the United States is the brand’s largest market after India, and that a presence in New York offers an opportunity to meet the community, understand brand connections and build relationships in the U.S.

Bangalore Watch Company™ differentiates itself through the use of exotic materials such as meteorites, Cerasteel™ (a proprietary fusion of steel and ceramic) and captured carbon. It has also produced watches from recovered fighter‑plane components and aircraft‑carrier material, and created India’s first watch qualified for spaceflight. Each collection draws inspiration from aviation, cricket, space and the great outdoors, aiming to tell 21st‑century Indian stories that go beyond stereotypes.

The brand has attracted recognition from global publications including The New York Times, Forbes and Hodinkee, and it now serves customers in more than 30 countries. The press release was issued on Wednesday, 14 October 2026 at 11:10:52 IST by Bangalore Watch Company.
