BOE will restart dividend payments to UK Treasury, with interim payout approved as first dividend since 2020.
Governor Andrew Bailey said the central bank has sufficient surplus to sustain an annual dividend, per February court of directors minutes.
The dividend restart follows a drive with staff layoffs of nearly 10%, restructuring, property revamp and sale of its London sports centre.
The initiative also includes investment in forecasting infrastructure recommended by former Fed Chair Ben Bernanke.
