Product Launch Details

BEML Limited has unveiled India's first indigenously designed and developed 60-Ton Electric Dump Truck, the BH60-EV, at its Mysuru Complex on September 30, 2026. The vehicle was virtually launched by Shri Shantanu Roy, CMD, BEML Limited, in the presence of Functional Directors, senior officers and employees.

Product Specifications

Advanced Electric Powertrain: The BH60-EV is powered by a high-performance Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) integrated with a rugged gearbox and a 1,000 kWh high-voltage lithium-ion battery pack.

High Payload & Gradeability: The vehicle offers a payload capacity of 54,500 kg with a rock body and a volumetric body capacity of 36.4 cubic metres. It delivers high tractive effort and instant torque for efficient operation on gradients.

Efficiency & Productivity: The electric platform is engineered to reduce dependence on conventional fuel and deliver improved energy efficiency, high power-to-weight ratio, strong acceleration and gradeability.

Safety & Operator Comfort: The spacious, ergonomically designed cabin incorporates a Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS), emergency steering and sealed oil-cooled disc brakes.

Financial and Operational Impact

Operating Cost Savings: The BH60-EV is designed to deliver 40-60% lower operating costs compared with conventional diesel-powered equipment.

Environmental Benefits: The vehicle enables an estimated annual reduction of around 130 tonnes of CO2 emissions per vehicle, subject to operating conditions.

Charging Infrastructure: BEML offers a complete charging station solution designed to be compatible with site electrical infrastructure and scalable for fleet operations.

Strategic Context

This launch marks another significant step in BEML's journey towards developing advanced, sustainable and technology-driven solutions for heavy industry. The BH60-EV builds on BEML's growing electric vehicle portfolio and follows the launch of its 35-ton Electric Dump Truck on 10 April 2026.
