Expansion Milestone
Bhatia Mobile Ltd, a family‑run public limited mobile‑retail company listed on the BSE since 2018, announced the opening of its first store in Haryana at Shop No. 11–12, Municipal Market, Rohtak (PIN 124001). The outlet represents the company's entry into the home state of its founders and brings the total network to more than 500 stores across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Recent Store Roll‑out
Earlier in the year the firm added 90 new outlets in 90 days, underscoring its rapid expansion capability. The Rohtak store is the latest addition to this aggressive growth trajectory.
Company Background
The business traces its origins to the 1980s when Mr Harbans Lal Bhatia operated textile weaving and wholesale operations in Surat. After a 1986 accident that left him bedridden and caused losses of approximately ₹80 lakh by 1989, the family sold personal assets and restarted from a rented shop that housed a PCO/STD booth and a juice centre. His sons, Sanjeev and Nikhil Bhatia, assisted while attending school. In 1996‑97 the family entered mobile accessories, opening the first mobile store in Surat in 1998. By 2003 three stores were operating in Surat and nearby towns. A franchise model adopted in 2007 expanded the chain to 85 stores by 2012, and in 2014 the company launched its own handset brand, HSL Mobile. Today, Mr Sanjeev Bhatia serves as Chairman and Mr Nikhil Bhatia is Whole‑Time Director, co‑promoter and co‑founder.
Financial Scale
According to the press release, Bhatia Mobile’s annual turnover is roughly ₹1,000 crore and the enterprise is valued at about ₹500 crore.
Launch Promotions
To mark the Rohtak inauguration, the retailer is offering a neckband originally priced at ₹999 for ₹90, earbuds priced at ₹1,999 for ₹199, and special pricing on selected iPhone models with easy EMI options. A “Spin and Win” promotion will allow customers to win prizes such as an electric vehicle, television, washing machine, smartphones and other rewards, subject to terms and conditions.
Future Outlook
The company indicated that the Rohtak outlet is the first step in a broader plan to strengthen its presence in Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 markets of Haryana and beyond, leveraging its strong supply chain, logistics, staffing and employee‑training capabilities.
Key Personnel Remarks
Chairman Sanjeev Bhatia said the Rohtak store provides an opportunity to reconnect with the family’s roots, while Whole‑Time Director Nikhil Bhatia emphasized that customer trust remains the firm’s greatest strength.
