Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd., in partnership with the National Book Trust (NBT) and the Ministry of Education, officially launched the children’s comic “Chhota Bheem & Vidya – Big Green Mission” at the Chinar Book Festival 2026 held at the Sher‑i‑Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. The launch formed part of Bisleri’s Bottles for Change initiative, the flagship programme aimed at plastic‑waste recycling and responsible waste management.
The comic is available in 48 languages, covering all 22 scheduled Indian languages. As part of the launch, 20,000 copies in English and Urdu were distributed to schools across Jammu & Kashmir to promote environmental responsibility among children.

In his remarks, Dr. Angelo George emphasized that “creating a more sustainable future begins with inspiring the next generation” and highlighted the role of storytelling under Bisleri’s ‘Bisleri Greener Promise’ to make environmental responsibility engaging for children. Mr. Yuvraj Malik added that the comic leverages popular characters to encourage simple, sustainable habits and nurture informed citizens.
On 25 July 2026, a 5 km Reading Marathon titled “Together We Read, Together We Lead” was conducted along Dal Lake. The marathon was flagged off by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, and aimed to set records in the India Book of Records (IBR) and Asia Book of Records (ABR) for the highest number of child participants in a marathon promoting reading and environmental awareness.
The festival also featured a Bottles for Change sustainability stall, where interactive exhibits demonstrated how used plastic is collected, recycled, and transformed into everyday products, illustrating the principles of a circular economy.
