On 7 July 2026, Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd., through its flagship sustainability programme Bottles for Change (BFC), entered into a Letter of Association (LoA) with the Indian Coast Guard (Kerala & Mahe). The agreement is designed to advance plastic waste management and promote environmental sustainability across coastal regions, aligning with the Coast Guard’s mission of achieving Plastic‑Free Oceans.
Key Signatories
The LoA was formally signed by Dr. Angelo George, Chief Executive Officer of Bisleri International, and Deputy Inspector General Ashish Mehrotra of the Indian Coast Guard. Senior representatives present included Mr. K. Ganesh (Director – Sustainability & Corporate Affairs, Bisleri), Mr. Dhinakaran (South Region Manager – CSR, Bisleri), Mr. Jofin (CSR Executive – Kerala, Bisleri) and Mr. Jabir, Chief Executive Officer of Green Worms.
Objectives and Scope
The collaboration commits Bottles for Change to work closely with the Coast Guard to:
- Strengthen plastic‑waste collection, segregation and recycling of post‑consumer plastic along Kerala’s coastline.
- Drive community awareness and behavioural change to prevent plastic debris from entering marine ecosystems.
- Foster sustainable practices among coastal stakeholders, including fishermen, local businesses and tourists.
Both parties highlighted that the partnership will enhance existing waste‑management systems and contribute to preserving coastal and marine ecosystems for future generations.
