Boeing Wins $213 Million Navy Contract for P‑8A Aircraft Reconfiguration
Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA) has been awarded a $213 million contract modification by the U.S. Department of War to support the reconfiguration of four P‑8A Multi‑mission Maritime aircraft that were previously purchased by a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customer. The modification expands the scope to include non‑recurring engineering services required to adjust the aircraft configuration to meet the specific operational requirements of the customer.
The execution of the work will be geographically split, with 91 % of the effort performed at Boeing’s facilities in Seattle, Washington, and the remaining 9 % carried out in Huntington Beach, California. The contract is structured as a cost‑plus‑fixed‑fee undefinitized contract modification (P00010) to the underlying contract N0001924C0025, and it is not a competitively bid award. Completion of the reconfiguration effort is targeted for December 2031.
At the time of award, the Department of War will obligate $74,895,757 from the FMS customer’s funds. Naval Air Systems Command, located in Patuxent River, Maryland, serves as the contracting activity overseeing this contract modification.
