Contract Overview
Boeing (NYSE:BA) was awarded an $880 million contract by the U.S. Department of War for P‑8A Poseidon aircrew and maintenance training systems. The award is a firm‑fixed‑price, cost‑plus‑fixed‑fee, indefinite‑delivery/indefinite‑quantity (IDIQ) contract covering procurement, modernization and sustainment of training systems, including development, integration, testing, delivery, installation of new training devices, upgrades to existing trainers, and associated hardware, software, spares and support services.
Work Scope and Locations
Eighty percent of the work will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri, with the remaining effort distributed among Jacksonville, Florida; Oak Harbor, Washington; and international sites in Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, South Korea, Germany, Canada, Singapore and Norway. The contract is scheduled for completion by June 2031. No funds are obligated at the time of award; obligations will be incurred as individual orders are issued. The contracting activity is the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division in Orlando, Florida.
Additional Modification
In addition, Boeing received a $55.4 million modification exercising a three‑year option for P‑8A commercial common consumables market baskets. At the time of the modification award, an $18.5 million order was executed, with work to be performed in St. Louis and Seattle, Washington, through 30 June 2029.
