The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment published a case study highlighting the success of BP Sons Pvt. Ltd., a Lucknow-based hospitality and recreation company owned by Manish Verma, through the Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes (VCF-SC). The company received financial assistance of ₹4.81 crore in 2015 through venture capital assistance comprising equity and optionally convertible debentures. This funding enabled the expansion of their integrated amusement park facility featuring electrical and mechanical rides, water-based recreational activities, multi-cuisine dining facilities, and a well-equipped banquet hall for weddings, conferences, and social gatherings.
The financial support strengthened the company's operational capabilities and expansion plans, resulting in significant business growth. The workforce increased from 14 to 25 employees, including 12 Scheduled Caste/Backward Class employees and 13 non-SC/BC employees. The company's asset base witnessed remarkable growth from ₹1.21 crore to ₹6.65 crore, reflecting sustained business expansion and improved financial strength. According to owner Manish Verma, the VCF-SC support enabled business expansion, operational stability enhancement, and strengthened hospitality and event services, establishing a strong customer base while contributing to Uttar Pradesh's hospitality sector growth.
The case study demonstrates the transformative impact of targeted financial support under VCF-SC in enabling Scheduled Caste entrepreneurs to establish sustainable enterprises that generate employment, strengthen regional tourism and hospitality infrastructure, and contribute to inclusive economic development.
