Refining Operations and Projects

Mumbai Refinery:

  • Petro Resid Fluidized Catalytic Cracker project worth approximately ₹14,000 crore underway
  • Commissioned 200 KTPA De-Aromatized Solvents unit for specialty products
  • Establishing co-processing facility for Sustainable Aviation Fuel production

Kochi Refinery:

  • Planned expansion from 15.5 to 17 MMTPA capacity
  • Polypropylene project progressing

Bina Refinery:

Marketing Network Expansion

Lubricants Business

  • MAK Lubricants recorded sales of 428 Thousand Metric Tonnes
  • Launched MAK ADJOL AGRI UNIVERSAL biodegradable spray oil
  • Introduced MAK SMARTKOOL immersion coolant for data centers

Pipeline Infrastructure

  • Commissioned 425-km Krishnapatnam-Hyderabad Multiproduct Pipeline with 4.4 MMTPA capacity
  • Restored Mumbai–Manmad–Bijwasan Pipeline flood damage in record 60 days (vs scheduled 105 days)

Upstream and Global Operations

BPRL Subsidiary:

  • Acquired remaining stake in Brazilian JV, making it wholly owned subsidiary with 40% interest in BM-SEAL-11 ultra deepwater field
  • Mozambique LNG project resumed with approximately 47% completion
  • Combined investment in Brazil and Mozambique projects: approximately $6.5 billion

Trading Arm:

  • Established Bharat Petroleum Global Energy Services (BPGES) in Singapore for crude oil procurement and international trading

Petrochemicals Expansion

  • Bina Petrochemical and Refinery Expansion Project progressing
  • Polypropylene project at Kochi advancing
  • Pre-project activities for 9 MMT refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Ramayapatnam, Andhra Pradesh
  • Targeted petrochemical intensity index of around 35%
  • Launched BePoly polymer brand with phased seed marketing

Natural Gas Business

  • Gas volumes handled increased 25% from 1.8 MMT to 2.3 MMT
  • Added over 3 lakh households to PNG network, reaching cumulative 8.5 lakh households
  • Achieved highest-ever CBG blending of 4.2% (exceeding mandated 1% requirement)

Green Energy Initiatives

Biofuels:

  • Commissioned integrated biorefinery at Bargarh, Odisha combining 1G and 2G ethanol production
  • 2G facility converts agricultural residue (rice straw) into ethanol

Renewable Energy:

  • Commissioned 71 MW solar power project at Prayagraj
  • Total installed renewable capacity: 251 MW
  • Approximately 100 MW wind power projects under implementation in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh
  • Secured additional 100 MW wind project through MP Government bidding

Green Hydrogen:

  • Operational 5 MW green hydrogen plant at Bina
  • Preparing 5000 TPA green hydrogen project for 2028 commencement (potential annual emissions reduction: 57,000 tonnes)
  • Commissioned South India's first Green Hydrogen Refueling Station at Kochi
  • NeuEN Green Energy JV secured contract to supply 10 KTPA green hydrogen to Numaligarh Refinery at ₹279/kg (lowest-ever tariff)

Compressed Biogas:

  • Commissioned first municipal solid waste-based CBG plant at Brahmapuram, Kochi (150 TPD waste processing, 5.6 TPD CBG production)
  • Satna, Madhya Pradesh became 100% CBG district
  • Plan to establish 26 CBG plants over next two years
  • 19 projects approved with total capacity of approximately 50 TMTPA

Digital Transformation

  • HelloBPCL serves over 1 crore customers
  • SmartFleet for commercial vehicle fuel management
  • UFill available across 17,000+ retail outlets
  • IRIS AI platform provides real-time visibility across operations

Research & Development

  • ₹296 crore invested in R&D and innovation
  • 22 patent applications filed, 7 IP rights granted
  • Developing 10 KL per day Bio-IBA demonstration plant at Bargarh
