Partnership Overview

Broadway announced a strategic partnership with The Foundery – a venture‑builder co‑founded by Kishore Biyani, Nikhil Kamath and Ronnie Screwvala – to launch the inaugural cohort of 18 consumer businesses that emerged from The Foundery’s 90‑day residential programme. The partnership will place these brands in Broadway’s experiential retail stores across India, giving them their first opportunity to test products on shelves and directly with consumers.

Brand Portfolio and Retail Model

The participating brands cover health & wellness, beauty, fashion & lifestyle, food‑and‑beverage and consumer technology. Each brand will be allocated time‑bound shelf space under a commercial model that bundles rent, utilities, housekeeping, storage and in‑store operations. This arrangement allows founders to validate demand, observe buying behaviour and refine offerings before committing to permanent retail footprints or long‑term leases.

Quotes from Key Stakeholders

Sankalp Kathuria, Co‑Founder and CEO of Broadway, said the company is “super excited to be the launch partner for The Foundery” and described Broadway as a launchpad that moves brands from build to shelf to distribution, providing a floor, a customer and a route to market from day one. Kishore Biyani emphasized that early consumer interaction is essential, noting that “founders should start distribution conversations much earlier.” Nikhil Kamath added that the most interesting consumer brands of the next decade will be built in India for India first, and that Broadway offers the critical shelf‑space exposure.

Broadway’s Founding Team and Expansion

Broadway is led by co‑founders Vivek Biyani, Sankalp Kathuria, actor‑entrepreneur Rana Daggubati, Apurva Salarpuria of Salarpuria Group, Anarock, Nikhil Kamath and Abhijeet Pai of Gruhas Proptech. The initiative is supported by Think9, a leading venture builder. Broadway currently operates in four cities – Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune and the newly opened Mumbai – and aims to provide a platform for more than 200 new‑age Indian consumer brands to engage customers through a content‑to‑commerce model.

Operational Footprint

The partnership will see the 18 showcased brands placed in Broadway stores nationwide, leveraging the existing retail footprint in the four mentioned cities. The model’s focus on short‑term, all‑inclusive shelf space is designed to reduce upfront capital outlay for founders while delivering real‑world consumer feedback.
