Brown-Forman shares fell up to 6% in after‑hours trading following Pernod Ricard’s announcement that merger talks have ended.
The companies could not agree on mutually acceptable terms for the proposed combination, which was first explored on March 26.
Pernod Ricard said it will stay focused on its existing strategy and operating model after the collapse.
The failed deal would have created one of the world’s largest spirits companies, combining Jack Daniel’s with brands like Absolut and Jameson.
