Press Release – 17 July 2026

Muneer Khan, the founder of Cadre Tech Labs, was announced on Friday, 17 July 2026, as a member of the IEEE Computer Society’s “Computing’s Top 30 Early Career Professionals” list for 2025. The recognition, issued jointly from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and New York, United States, highlights emerging professionals who have made notable contributions to computing in the early stages of their careers.

Khan’s personal journey began in a remote village where he became the first member of his family to attend college. He earned an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Birla Institute of Applied Sciences, India, and subsequently completed a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in intelligent and connected devices at Columbia University, United States.

Cadre Tech Labs is a New York‑based startup with its engineering operations located in Navi Mumbai, India. Under Khan’s leadership, the company develops wearable devices aimed at blind and deaf individuals. Its flagship product, VisionPro, is a pair of AI‑powered smart glasses designed for blind users. VisionPro has completed more than 4,700 user trials, with the technology refined through direct community feedback. The glasses were first demonstrated publicly at TechFest 2024, hosted by IIT Bombay.

This is not Khan’s first international accolade. He previously received the Young Scientist Award in 2024, the Young Innovator of the Year award from the University of Oxford, and the Engineering for Humanity Award in New York. Additionally, he was one of twelve innovators invited to present at the Wearable Innovations Forum 2025, held at the University of Cambridge.

In his statement, Khan emphasized that “Awards matter less to me than the moment someone puts on our device and feels more confident and independent in their everyday life.” He added that his team in Navi Mumbai and New York works as a single unit toward that goal and expressed optimism that AI‑driven sensing, wearables, and low‑cost devices can deliver healthcare, accessibility, and safety solutions to historically underserved communities.
