Award Announcement

Catalyst Training Services, a Bengaluru‑based sales‑performance consultancy, was presented with the 2026 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards® Silver in the Best Sales Training Program for Extended Enterprise category for its Dealer Conversion Breakthrough programme developed for TVS Motor Company Limited. The award was jointly presented to TVS Motor and Catalyst, and it reflects validation by an independent panel of senior industry experts who assess entries on design, innovation, functionality and measurable business impact.

Programme Overview

The Dealer Conversion Breakthrough addressed a modern sales problem characterised by information overload for both customers and frontline salespeople. Competitive research identified that TVS’s commuter‑motorcycle products suffered from a visibility disadvantage rather than a value deficit; customers often failed to perceive existing product advantages. Catalyst’s solution distilled a limited set of customer‑relevant differentiators into a simple, observable sales‑execution methodology that linked demonstration behaviours to the physical geography of the motorcycle, thereby reducing reliance on memory and extensive product knowledge.

Implementation and Results

The programme was delivered to approximately 650 participants through 45 workshops across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. Initial unassisted product‑demonstration proficiency scores were typically below 25%. After exposure to the behavioural coaching tool and repeated practice, participants routinely achieved proficiency levels above 80% within 30‑40 minutes—a dramatic acceleration compared with traditional training timelines measured in weeks or months. Participants themselves applied the same behavioural criteria to evaluate demonstrations, making improvement visible to the entire cohort.

Field reports indicated that fifteen participating dealerships in Rajasthan experienced sales growth ranging from 5% to 300% relative to their prior monthly averages. These figures, reported by the dealers themselves and not independently audited, were achieved despite varied baseline sales volumes. Moreover, field managers who had undergone the programme independently propagated the methodology to salespeople in other territories, leading to documented enhancements in sales, demonstration quality, market‑share gains and a reduced reliance on discounting.

Significance and Validation

The Silver award underscores that a frontline sales intervention originating in India can meet rigorous international standards for design, scalability and measurable impact. By engineering the “vital few” observable behaviours rather than expanding the volume of information to be learned, Catalyst demonstrates that consistent execution can be achieved without continuous facilitator involvement, complementing existing sales processes, SOPs and training infrastructure.
