Funding Announcement

Celero Communications, an Irvine, California‑based networking chip startup, announced on 8 September 2026 that it has closed a $275 million Series C financing round, which values the company at more than $3 billion. The round was led by Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners and CapitalG, and included participation from existing investors Sutter Hill Ventures and Maverick Silicon, bringing the company’s total capital raised to $415 million since its founding in 2024.

Gavin Baker, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Atreides Management, will join Celero’s board of directors as part of the transaction.

The company also disclosed that it has successfully validated the industry’s first 2 nm coherent DSP silicon, combining DSP processing with advanced analog technology. This breakthrough establishes a platform for next‑generation AI optical interconnects capable of delivering bandwidth from 1.6 Tb/s through 3.2 Tb/s as hyperscale AI clusters and cloud data centers expand.

According to McKinsey & Company, global data centres will require nearly $7 trillion of investment by 2030, of which approximately $5.2 trillion is expected to support AI workloads, highlighting the growing demand for high‑bandwidth, low‑power connectivity.

Celero, founded in 2024 by former executives of Marvell, Inphi, Broadcom and ClariPhy, operates design centres in Canada and Argentina. The new financing will be used to accelerate its product roadmap, increase research‑and‑development spending and advance production readiness to meet the rising demand for higher‑bandwidth, lower‑power optical connectivity in AI infrastructure.
