Product Overview
Nylon Filament Yarn (NFY): Long continuous lustrous fibre used for textile fabrics including sarees, draperies, furnishings, sports-wear, athleisure wear, mosquito nets, and embroidery. Properties include 10 times more moisture absorption than polyester, excellent softness, high tensile strength, good air-permeability, mildew prevention, lightweight with exceptional strength, wrinkle resistance, easy washability, and excellent luster.
Product Categories under NFY:
- Nylon Mono Filament
- Nylon Mother Yarn
- Multifilament Yarns (FDY, POY, HOY, DTY, ATY, Draw Winder, TOW)
- Technical Yarn (High Tenacity)
Reinforcement Products:
- Nylon Tyre Cord Fabric for bias/cross ply tyres used in motorcycles, scooters, LCVs, HCVs and OTR vehicles
- Polyester Tyre Cord Fabric (PTCF) for passenger car radial tyres
Manufacturing Process
The manufacturing process includes polymerization, industrial yarn spinning, cable cording machines, loom weaving, and dipping process for tyre cord fabric. The dipping process impregnates greige fabric with RFL solution and heat sets it to create adhesion with rubber.
Strategic Initiatives
Recent strategic initiatives include:
- Significant capital expenditure in increasing reinforcement capacities and debottlenecking downstream capacities
- Foray into Polyester Tyre Cord Fabric (PTCF) for passenger radial tyres
- Investment in renewable power facilities to reduce power costs
- Development of export market for Recycled Polymer and Nylon Filament Yarn made from Green Polymer
- Increase in capacities in downstream equipment for value-added Nylon Filament Yarn
- Sustainability initiatives including zero water discharge, reduced carbon emissions, recycling nylon waste into Caprolactam
Industry Overview
India's textile industry is projected to reach US$350 billion by 2030, expected to create around 35 million new jobs. Growth factors for global synthetic yarns and reinforcement market include increasing demand due to wide applications, water scarcity affecting natural fibres, properties like ultra-lightweight fabrics, comfort, durability, and use in automobiles for high strength and abrasion resistance.
