Existing Capacity (S3 Unit-I, Ambad, Nashik):

  • 9,000 units annually manufacturing EHV circuit breakers in the 33kV to 800kV range
  • Current capacity utilization: Approximately 85%

New Capacity Addition (S3 Unit-II):

  • 7,200 units annually manufacturing EHV circuit breakers in the 33kV to 245kV range
  • Represents 80% expansion of EHV circuit breaker manufacturing capacity
  • Equipped with 500kV and 350kV high-voltage testing laboratories
  • Commercial production commenced on June 4, 2026

Investment and Financing

  • Investment made in the new facility: ₹39.49 crore
  • Mode of financing: Internal accruals
  • This facility represents 97% of the capex utilization for the larger greenfield project

Project Background

The company had previously announced on October 29, 2025 (ref. no. COSEC/115/2025-26) a greenfield switchgear business project with:

  • Total estimated project cost: ₹748.20 crore (net of taxes)
  • Funding through mix of internal accruals, equity, or debt, or combination thereof
  • Location: Western India on approximately 35 acres of land
  • Built-up area: Around 72,000 sq. meters
  • Completion timeline: 33 months from announcement
  • Purpose: Double existing switchgear manufacturing capacity and cater to complete product range including MV and EHV Switchgear, Substation Automation Systems, and Power Electronics solutions
