Chaichun Inaugurates India’s First Luxury Tea Experience Room in Siliguri

On 30 June 2026, Chaichun opened a 5,000 sq ft Luxury Tea Experience Room, Café & Boutique in Siliguri, West Bengal, marking the first such premium tea destination in India. The inauguration was attended by senior government officials – Secretary Rajesh Agrawal, Commerce Secretary, Department of Commerce; Secretary Amit Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce; and C. Murugan, Chairman of the Tea Board of India – underscoring official support for tea tourism and industry collaboration.

The Experience Room is designed as a multi‑sensory venue that blends tea, culture, education and experiential retail. It houses a curated collection of more than 300 teas and bespoke blends sourced from India’s premier tea‑growing regions as well as select international origins. Visitors can engage in guided tastings, explore experiential zones, and experience India’s first Tea Audio‑Visual Experience Room. Personalized offerings include Tea Profiling, a “Make Your Own Blend” studio, curated tea gifting, and structured learning programmes aimed at enthusiasts, professionals and entrepreneurs.

Founder Rajeev Baid highlighted that the project fulfills a long‑standing vision to celebrate Indian tea heritage, support tea‑growing communities, and position India as a global leader in premium tea experiences. The launch coincides with Chaichun’s tenth anniversary and reflects the brand’s evolution into an experience‑led luxury tea lifestyle label.

Chaichun operates under the Aman Tea Group, which produces over 40 million kg of tea annually and is associated with the iconic Okayti Tea Estate in Darjeeling. The new venue is intended to provide tea growers, estates and producers across India a platform to showcase their products, enhance market visibility and engage directly with consumers and buyers, thereby strengthening tea tourism and expanding market access for Indian teas.
