World's Top Universities Offer Scholarships at Chandigarh University Expo 2026

On October 7, 2026, Chandigarh University (CU) in Punjab, India, organized the two‑day International Education Expo 2026. The inauguration was attended by senior academic dignitaries including Prof (Dr) Nelson Ribeiro, Vice‑Rector of the Catholic University of Portugal; Prof (Dr) Todor Radev, President of Varna University of Management, Bulgaria; Prof (Dr) Matilde María Olarte Martínez, Vice‑Rector for Culture, Heritage, Sustainable Development and Campus Development at the University of Salamanca, Spain; Prof (Dr) SS Sehgal, Vice‑Chancellor of CU; and Prof (Dr) Rajan Sharma, Executive Director of International Affairs, CU.

The expo featured 29 top‑ranked universities from 13 countries—including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, France, Canada, Portugal, Brazil, Malaysia, UAE, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Ethiopia—offering study‑abroad opportunities with scholarships. Notable participating institutions were Johns Hopkins University (USA), University of Southampton (UK), University of Wollongong (Australia), University of Newcastle (Australia), Wayne State University (USA), Massey University (New Zealand), Western Sydney University (Australia), Deakin University (Australia), University of Huddersfield (UK), University of Plymouth (UK) and Pittsburg State University (USA).

CU presented 18 International Transfer Programs, six Student Exchange Programs, three Short‑Term Programs, as well as summer schools, winter schools, research internships and other short‑term offerings, all with scholarship components. 9,900 students participated in the event, receiving information on overseas education, admission processes and global career pathways.

As part of its broader internationalisation strategy, CU highlighted that it has more than 540 international partnerships and that over 2,300 CU students have already studied at partner universities in the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and other nations through semester exchanges, international programs and internships. The university also hosts 2,100 visiting international faculty members, including 560 international research network scholars, and currently enrolls over 3,000 international students from 65 countries.

CU, a NAAC A+‑graded and QS‑world‑ranked autonomous university approved by the UGC, offers 109 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across engineering, management, pharmacy, law, architecture, journalism, animation, hotel management, commerce and other fields. The expo was positioned as a platform to strengthen academic collaborations, student mobility, joint research and knowledge exchange between CU and leading global institutions.
