On July 20, 2026, Chandigarh University announced a comprehensive expansion of its learning ecosystem aimed at enhancing graduate employability in response to rapid technological change.

Value‑Added Courses (VACs)

In the academic year 2025‑26 the university offered 273 multidisciplinary Value‑Added Courses covering domains such as Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Management, Commerce, Education, Health Sciences, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, and Chemical Sciences. The courses were delivered through offline, online, blended and industry‑supported modes and ranged from 30 to 60 hours each.

Course Content

The curriculum includes emerging‑technology topics like Generative AI, Machine Learning, AI for Educators, Prompt Engineering, Blockchain, Ethical Hacking, Data Science, Angular, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, CAD/CAM, PCB Design, Industrial Automation, Digital Marketing, Business Analytics, Financial Technologies, Digital Pedagogy, Entrepreneurship, Fluorescence Spectroscopy and several other specialised domains. All courses are integrated with platforms such as SWAYAM, NPTEL and other leading MOOC providers, combining classroom instruction with practical assignments, projects, workshops and certification assessments.

Certification Partnerships and Outcomes

Chandigarh University partnered with globally recognised learning platforms LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, Infosys Springboard, SWAYAM, UNESCO and Saylor Academy to provide students access to internationally recognised certifications. In 2025‑26 students completed more than 7.5 lakh course certifications through these platforms. The university attributes a 30 % increase in campus placement rates to this upskilling initiative.

Learning Model and Pedagogy

The university’s model follows an Outcome‑Based Education (OBE) framework aligned with Industry 4.0 readiness. It emphasizes competencies in AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, programming, automation, digital technologies, business analytics, entrepreneurship, leadership and professional communication. The flexible learning system allows students to pursue multiple certifications alongside their regular degree programmes without interrupting their studies, promoting lifelong learning.

Institutional Credentials

Chandigarh University is an autonomous institution approved by the UGC, holds a NAAC A+ grade, and is QS World Ranked. It is the youngest university in India and the only private university in Punjab with an A+ NAAC rating. The university offers more than 109 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across engineering, management, pharmacy, law, architecture, journalism, animation, hotel management, commerce and other fields. It has been recognised as “University with Best Placements” by WCRC.
