Chandigarh University Places 102 B.Ed Graduates

Chandigarh University announced that a total of 102 B.Ed graduates have secured teaching positions in prestigious schools and academic institutions across 12 Indian states and in overseas markets including Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and France. Of these, 62 graduates from the B.A. B.Ed. (Humanities) programme and 40 graduates from the B.Sc. B.Ed. (Science) programme obtained roles in government schools, reputed private institutions, EdTech organisations and international educational institutions over the last four years.

Indian Placements

The university’s graduates have been placed in Punjab Government Schools, through the Bihar Public Service Commission, at Army Public School, Allahabad, Pinegrove School in Himachal Pradesh, Good Shepherd School in Bengaluru, Anand Niketan School in Ahmedabad, as well as with leading EdTech firm Physics Wallah and several other reputed institutions. Specific government appointments include Balwant Kumar, appointed English teacher in a Mohali government school with an annual salary of ₹12 lakh; Nilesh Pandey, who secured a Social Science teaching post via the Bihar Public Service Commission with an annual package of ₹12 lakh; and Muskan, appointed as an English teacher in a government school with an annual salary of ₹12 lakh.

International Placements

Internationally, Aanchal Sandhu, a B.Sc.–B.Ed. graduate, was appointed as an Ontario Certified Teacher at Tender Treasures Montessori School in North York, Ontario, Canada, with an annual salary of CAD 45,000 (approximately ₹42 lakh). Another graduate, Sameeksha, obtained a government teaching position in New South Wales, Australia, earning AUD 80,000 (over ₹52 lakh). Alumni Naira Nazir, who completed an M.Sc. in Human Resource Management at Queen’s University Belfast, is employed as an HR professional with Healthcare Ireland Group in the United Kingdom, drawing an annual salary of £30,000. Additionally, B.Ed. graduate Abhilasha Tamang has established a career in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, serving as a Manager at Jericho Tennis Club and as a School Assistant at an Early Learning Childcare Centre, with a combined annual salary package of approximately CAD 90,000.

Experiential Internship Programme

Over the past six academic years, 425 B.Ed students from the University Institute of Teachers Training and Research (UITTR) have completed or are currently undertaking extensive six‑month classroom internships during the final year of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme. Internship cohorts were 85 students in 2021‑22, 80 in 2022‑23, 80 in 2023‑24, 71 in 2024‑25, 63 in 2025‑26, and 46 students are currently undergoing internships in the ongoing 2026‑27 session, bringing the cumulative total to 425. The internship programme provides hands‑on experience in classroom teaching, lesson planning, student assessment, school administration, examination management and academic record keeping, with many students receiving employment offers before completing their degree.

Academic Collaborations and Exam Success

Chandigarh University has forged academic collaborations with more than 100 leading schools nationwide, including Yadavindra Public School (YPS) Mohali, Delhi Public School (DPS), Vivek High School and several reputed convent schools. According to Deep Inder Singh Sandhu, Senior Managing Director, the practice‑oriented model immerses students in real school environments long before graduation, enabling them to develop classroom competence and professional confidence. Meghna Mahendru, Principal of UITTR, highlighted that the six‑month internship is the cornerstone of the four‑year Integrated Teacher Education Programme and noted that the university’s students consistently achieve a 75‑90 % success rate in teacher eligibility examinations such as CTET, PSTET and HTET, with nearly 40 candidates qualifying each year, often before completing their degree.
