Placement Overview
182 animation and multimedia students from Chandigarh University secured employment with 120 leading companies over the three‑year period 2024‑2026. The highest salary offered was Rs 6 Lakh per annum.
The placements comprised 146 undergraduate students from B.Sc. programmes (Animation, VFX & Gaming, Digital Filmmaking) and 36 postgraduate students from the M.Sc. Animation & Multimedia Technology programme.
Domain‑wise, 104 graduates were hired as video editors and graphic designers; 17 as 2D/3D artists, journalists, graphic designers, visualizers or animators; 8 as content creators, content writers or creative designers, with additional hires in animation, VFX, app design, cinematography, editing, emote design, sketch artistry, UI/UX design, AI automation, gaming and other specialised multimedia fields.

Entrepreneurship and Internships
Twelve graduates launched successful startups, namely Tiny Heads, Saltlady Motion Pictures, Goofymation Studios, None MadebyUs and Suyansh Studio.
Over the same three‑year span, 174 students (142 undergraduates and 32 post‑graduates) completed internships with prestigious studios, companies, institutions and advertising agencies, gaining industry exposure beyond classroom teaching.
Infrastructure and Learning Environment
The Department of Animation & Multimedia operates 22 specialised labs and studios, including computer labs, VFX labs, 2D and 3D animation labs, cell animation labs, pre‑production labs, VR and Gaming labs, sound studios, chroma studios and AR/VR studios, equipped with industry‑standard software and hardware.
The curriculum follows a studio‑based, AI‑integrated approach, emphasizing emerging technologies in animation, VFX, game design and virtual reality, and includes twice‑a‑semester studio visits and field trips.

The university regularly hosts expert sessions with senior industry professionals such as Biren Ghose (Managing Director, Technicolor Group, Asia‑Pacific & Global Executive Committee), Rohit Tiwari (Actor, Director, Writer), Vidit Kundra (Assemble Entertainment), Vaibhav Kumaresh (International Animation Filmmaker), Viren Patil (Zebu Animation), Shyam Deshpande (Krafton), Druhin Mukherjee (Godspeed Games) and Manvendra Shukla (CEO, Lakshya Digital), who mentor students on emerging technologies, industry trends and career opportunities.
